Comprehensive Orthopaedics is pleased to welcome Patrick Curtin, MD, to our team of orthopaedic specialists. Dr. Curtin specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of conditions affecting the hand, wrist and upper extremity and is now accepting new patients at several Comprehensive Orthopaedics locations throughout Connecticut.
With advanced fellowship training in hand and upper extremity surgery, Dr. Curtin provides care for patients experiencing everything from common hand and wrist conditions to more complex injuries involving nerves, tendons and fractures.
Specialized Hand, Wrist and Upper Extremity Care
Dr. Curtin treats a wide range of orthopaedic conditions, including:
- Hand and wrist arthritis
- Wrist and small joint conditions
- Upper extremity fractures
- Tendon injuries
- Nerve injuries and nerve reconstruction
- Dupuytren’s contracture
- Wrist and small joint arthroscopy

His specialized training allows him to evaluate both routine and complex hand and upper extremity problems and develop treatment plans tailored to each patient’s condition, lifestyle and goals.
Advanced Orthopaedic Training
Dr. Curtin earned his Doctor of Medicine from Boston University School of Medicine after completing his undergraduate education at Emory University.
He completed his Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the University of Massachusetts, followed by advanced fellowship training in Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at the Philadelphia Hand to Shoulder Center.
This additional training provides Dr. Curtin with specialized expertise in treating injuries and conditions involving the hand, wrist, nerves, tendons and upper extremity.
Meet Dr. Curtin Outside the Office
Outside of orthopaedics, Dr. Curtin is an avid musician and athlete. He has participated in water polo and is also an accomplished marathon runner, completing the Boston, London, Chicago and Berlin Marathons.
His active lifestyle gives him a personal appreciation for the importance of restoring motion, function and independence for his patients.
