Comprehensive Orthopaedics is proud to practice at the Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute, which is the first in the country to receive the “Advanced Certification in Spine Surgery” by The Joint Commission.

The scoring and decision process for any of the accreditation and certifications is explained on the Joint Commission’s website. The criticality of the standards and other requirements are reviewed and are based on quality and safety of care the organization possesses. This certification evaluation has rigorous standards of care based on data collection guidelines, and measures clinical complications and outcomes. These are; surgical site infection rates, new neurological deficits, unplanned return visit to the OR, and pre-operative and post-operative Patient Reported Outcomes (PRO’s).

Connecticut Orthopaedic Institute demonstrated compliance with TJC’s standards for healthcare quality and safety in disease-specific care and continues to make strides with leading technologies and treatments along with their dedication to patient education.

Our orthopaedic surgeons are proud to be a part of a team that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of all conditions associated with the musculoskeletal system.
